Looking at Animals (trailer)
Inspired by John Berger’s 1980 essay “Why Look at Animals?” this observational film in five acts explores the urban spaces that exist for the purpose of, well, looking at animals. Looking at Animals is my master's thesis film at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University in Leeds, UK. To view the full film, contact me at anna.weltner@gmail.com.

Goitre
Winner, Best Documentary, European Film Festival, December 2021 Official Selection, International Portrait Film Festival, November 2021 Official Selection, Body Positive Film Festival, September 2021 Winner, Audience Award, North Bend Film Festival, July 2021 Honorable Mention, Los Angeles Underground Film Forum, July 2021 Description: At the beginning of the spring 2020 lockdowns, I discovered a swelling on my thyroid. Then I came across a Baroque painting of a woman who seemed to suffer from the same malady. Thus began a speculative, art-historico-medical documentary. Part research project, part self-portrait, Goitre explores the human relationship to art history and the idea that we see what we want to see. Credits: This film was directed, written, narrated, filmed, and edited by Anna Weltner. Location sound was recorded by Sean Cumming, who also wrote the theme music. The film features Rochelle Turner as Abra. Special thanks to our interviewees: Luigi Sena Jesse Locker
