Biography
Weltner_079.jpg

Hello, friend! I'm Anna, an American documentarian and video artist. I currently specialize in documentaries about artists and art history, and in creating video pieces that are works of art in themselves.

I have a background in print journalism and worked as arts editor at New Times in San Luis Obispo, California for many years. In 2019, I got my BA in film and art history (minor) from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, USA. In 2023, I earned my MA in documentary filmmaking from the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University in Leeds, UK.

In recent years, I've become interested in spectatorship and the act of looking. My short films have explored subjects such as life modeling and experimental self-portraiture. My latest film, Looking at Animals, is an observational documentary filmed in places people go to, well, look at animals.
